Come walk with the MHC in the 50th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade THIS SATURDAY!
We will be gathering at Wisconsin & 6th (Gate 4) between 11:00-11:30 AM.
The Parade assembles on Wisconsin Avenue between Old World 3rd Street and 6th Street, and all units should be at the assembly area by 11:00 AM. By 11:45 AM, our unit must be fully assembled and in position for step-off at 12:00 Noon. Wear your MHC gear and bring your hurleys along with a smile!
In honor of our 50th Annual Parade, every parade participant will receive a commemorative lapel pin. Parade volunteers will be in the lineup area passing them out, and will concentrate on the larger groups first. If you haven’t received yours by the time you step off, please check with the end-of-parade volunteers.
Parking for personal vehicles is available in the Shops of Grand Avenue parking structure for $3 for the day. Also, this year a shuttle bus will be available between the end of the parade route and the assembly area. It will drop off on West Michigan Street near the Shops of Grand Avenue, and will on request, make occasional stops at the Post Parade Party at the Irish Cultural & Heritage Center at 21st & Wisconsin.
After the parade the MHC will be gathering at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center (ICHC – 2133 W. Wisconsin Ave.) for the Shamrock Club post-parade celebration. The event will feature food, beverages, and 4 stages of entertainment from 1:00-6:00 pm, and all MHC members are encouraged to attend to support our long time sponsor, the Shamrock Club. Admission is $2 and children 10 and younger are free (there is a $10 max admission fee for families).
*MHC volunteers are needed to help work the post-parade event. You will either be pouring beers or working the MHC info table, and all volunteers are requested to be at the ICHC by noon (meaning these volunteers may miss out on being in the parade). Please consider volunteering as it greatly helps the club show love to our sponsors. Those who are interested should email email@example.com.
